Exhibition brings home energy issues to public
Three free regional shows will offer people the chance to pre-empt future energy challenges
The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and Greater Manchester Low Carbon Hub are helping the public to learn more about future energy challenges and what they can do about them at one of three free regional one-day events.
Manchester will host the first British Energy Challenge exhibition on 6 September in the Town Hall, and similar events will take place in Newcastle on 20 September and in Bristol on 10 October.
At the first exhibition more than 40 national and Manchester based companies will be promoting energy solutions – including National Grid and the Greater Manchester Hydrogen Partnership. Visitors will also be able to put their climate change questions to Met Office scientists, see a low carbon house from Manchester-based Dwelle and see how the National Grid is planning for future energy use.
DECC is working with the Carbon Trust on the British Energy Challenge events. To find out more about the events, click here.
