Cities gather to debate retrofit

Retro Expo summit in Birmingham to feature city speakers.
The city councils of Manchester and Bristol, and the Greater London Authority will come together to talk about their retrofit plans at the Retro Expo show in Birmingham later this year. Michael O’Doherty, head of climate change: buildings and energy at Manchester City Council, Mareike Schmidt, strategic energy programme manager at Bristol City Council, and Rachael Hickman, project manager – programme delivery (environment) at the Greater London Authority will be discussing the delivery of retrofit at scale.
Retro Expo takes place at the NEC in Birmingham from 30 October to 1 November 2012. The local authority representatives are among the key speakers at Retro Expo’s green deal summit. The seven modules of the summit cover: green deal finance, driving demand, retrofit at scale, retrofit learning and innovation, green deal skills, retrofit in the social housing sector, and green deal and beyond. As well as the summit, the event will feature an exhibition and a buyer’s forum.
