Managing the transition to BIM - an architect's perspective
Alistair Kell of BDP talks about the firm’s BIM journey from 2011 to the present day
Report from – Damien Carr
The Director of Information and Technology was speaking earlier this year on the first day of BIM Prospects 2016. The conference showcased how leading companies had prepared for the launch of the government’s BIM Level 2 mandate and examined the current skills gap, a major risk to the delivery of BIM Level 2.
“BIM for me isn’t necessarily about BIM Level 2, it isn’t about the government mandate,” he tells the audience, “it’s about the logical evolution of the way that we develop and deliver information, the way we design and the way we can do that better and more efficiently.”
