This month, local council planners, developers and others gathered at the City of London offices of law firm K&L Gates to hear their counterparts discuss the issue of brownfield land development.
The City Regeneration conference, sponsored by Landmark Information Group, explored what the government's brownfield agenda means for planning authorities and developers, examining issues around the financial viability and environmental risk of developments, as well as the effective use of data and mapping.
Among the speakers was Deirdra Armsby, Director of Regeneration and Planning at the London Borough of Newham, who leads on the London 2012 Olympics legacy and gave valuable insights into the council's approach to regeneration.
